About
I am a PhD student of Sociology at Goldsmiths College, University of London. I've finished my fieldwork
in Shanghai and Beijing,PRC.
My research project attempts to examine neo-liberalism as a mediator which highlights sexual transformations in contemporary China. Past discussions of neo-liberalism have mainly focused on its economic aspects and how these are embroiled within political regime. The project instead, will explore how promises made by neo-liberalism such as individualism and market-driven logic adopted by gay men and sex workers are creating new formations of intimacies, which are also challenging the Western models of sexuality and neo-liberalism.
My PhD supervisor is Prof. Bev Skeggs. I am from Taiwan.
