I research in 19th and 20th century literature, particularly in gender and sexuality and their intersection with narrative.
My first monograph _Homoplot: The Coming-out Story and Gay, Lesbian and Bisexual Identity_ was published by Peter Lang in 2008 - see 'Books' for further information.
I am currently convening 'Further Studies in American Literature and Culture' at Goldsmiths.
I gave a paper on the coming out story at the forthcoming 'Queer Lives Remodelled' day-conference, Kings College London, in June:
