Project Rendering the Real, is calling for participants for an interactive symposium and exhibition by project titled the “Fourth Moment”.
The intention is to interrogate the visual representations of art practitioners and their project participants, by way of papers, presentations, workshops and artwork. The exhibition and symposium will run between March 22nd – April 27th 2012. Visit www.renderingthereal.com for more information. “Rendering the Real” is an experimental space for exhibition and discussion of participatory arts and photographic arts practice. Your participation will contribute and build upon existing debate and provide an open discussion about the practice of art, photographic arts programs and the contemporary characteristics amongst marginalised groups, art practitioners and their participants. Presentations may be based on recently completed, in progress or planned research, projects, workshops and art programs related to issues and debates in art for inclusion, participatory art, photographic art, marginalisation, criminalisation, post-colonial art, gorvenmentality, reflexivity, facilitation, participation or collaboration. Submissions from a wide variety of disciplines interested in participatory
and art for inclusion are encouraged to express their interest. Participants outside of the UK are encouraged to contact us to discuss sharing their work via web conferencing. Please submit a 250 word proposal for: Workshops: 45min Poster Presentations: 15 – 20 min Project Presentations: 15 – 20 min Sole or co-authored Papers 15 min per paper Artwork for exhibition and discussion*. Dialogues between two or more participants around the symposium themes*. *Art work will be projected please get in touch with any questions. Please ensure that your abstract highlights the content in relation to a specified theme as well as the format and time frame of your presentation.
